Privacy Policy

Nuance PowerShare Network Privacy Policy

Nuance is committed to protecting patient privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how Nuance manages personal information when you use its services (the "Services"), including information provided when you use PowerShare. This policy applies to the data collected and stored by Nuance in providing its services.

Data Security

Nuance uses secure communications to transfer all information, including protected health information (PHI) and images from the imaging provider to the Nuance servers and to any user with access privileges. All data is encrypted using the same security level as (or better than that) used by financial institutions online.

We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your patient information from unauthorized access, use, and disclosure. For example, we store the personal information you provide on computer servers with limited access, and located in controlled facilities.

Additionally:

  • All non-image communications with the Services are sent using encryption (HTTPS with 128-bit SSL)
  • All clinical images communicated from imaging facilities or to users are encrypted using a168-bit 3DES algorithm
  • Users can delete their image record(s) at any time, with such deletions taking effect within 24 hours of the designation; no archived copies of any information is retained, unless the user so elects
  • Users who share images and information with other users can view a list of who has access to their images and information and can revoke any sharing privileges at any time; though when sharing privileges are revoked the other party may have already viewed or retained a copy of the user's images or information.

We request all clients alert us, if at any time, they access information that is not theirs.  By emailing support@NuancePowerShare.com we are better able to identify potential issues with incorrect access privileges.  This identification also allows Nuance, if required, to notify appropriate parties of a HIPAA violation.

We use patient information collected through the Services, including health information, to provide the Services, and as described in this privacy statement.
